Building Information modelling (BIM) is the process of constructing a highly three dimensional model in conjunction with or before embarking on the actual construction project.

The model can fully integrate survey data, architectural, structural, interior design, fabricator and mechanical and electrical drawings.

This allows for the project to be virtually built and tested prior to actual site works. Using BIM can provide a significant benefits to a project which can reduce the build time and the cost, these benefits include:-

-The site team is able develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and efficiently co-ordinate and plan works.

-Interactive visualisation and smooth real-time walkthroughs, allow clients and build team to navigate, explore and review the proposed design.

-Through BIM coordination which can be used as an ongoing audit check to identify errors and detect clashes with the various specialist installations which helps eliminate rework and wastage.
